Inspired by Black History Month, the Galleries at Moore College of Art and Design will take a look back at the Civil Rights Movement by opening the exhibit “Joel Katz: And I Said No Lord” on March 15.
Katz is known for his work with black and white photography, capturing the violence in Mississippi during the Civil Rights Movement. Katz was not only a photographer, but an author, information designer and a teacher at the University of the Arts. On Feb. 25, Katz will be holding a lecture about his art as well as the project starting at 11:30 a.m. Katz will also hold a book signing on March 7 at 5:30 p.m.
