There will be a discussion held tomorrow from noon to 1:30 p.m. about this year’s One Book, One Philadelphia selection, Christina Baker Kline’s “Orphan Train.”
The story follows Vivian, a 91-year-old widow once orphaned as a child, and Molly, a troubled teen being sent around from one unstable foster home to another.
The novel depicts an era in which thousands of orphaned children were taken from crowded cities to face uncertain futures in the rural Midwest. The discussion will take place in the ground floor lecture hall of Paley Library. This event is free and open to all.
