Salsa lessons at tyler

Salsa dancing classes will be offered in Room B86 of the Tyler School of Art. The classes are led by Abraham Ramos and Molly Caro, former Fairhill School students, as part of the reForm Project and Temple Contemporary. Classes run from noon to 1 p.m. on March 16, 23 and 30. No registration is required and classes are open to all.

Grant Taylor leads lecture

The Tyler Art & Technology Group are sponsoring a lecture led by professor Grant Taylor Wednesday night from 6-8 p.m. in room 104 of Tyler School of Art. His discussion is titled “You Are A Traitor!: Artists, Antipathy, and the Art Department.” Professor Taylor is an art historian specializing in early digital arts who teaches courses pertaining to modern and contemporary art and global architecture. Taylor was awarded the Thomas Rhys Vickroy Award for Outstanding Teaching in 2010. He is the author of “When the Machine Made Art” in addition to contribution to various art journals and magazines. There will be a conversation portion following his lecture, which will explore how his arguments and thesis relate to current conditions at Tyler. This event is free and open to all.

Designing for career opportunities

This Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 5 – 6:30 p.m., members of the Tyler architecture community are invited to partake in “Design Your Future: Creating Value In Your Career.”

The event will take place in the Tyler Architecture Gallery, Room 104. Students in attendance will receive one point toward their AIA learning unit.

This seminar will help architecture students better understand the licensing processes, provide tips for transferring skills into the workplace, update students on changes to the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards programs and explain how to get through the internship process with ease.

It also seeks to education students on the importance of the value of the NCARB certificate.

Speakers will include Jared Zern, professional architect and instructor of architectural technology,and members of both the American Institute of Architects and the NCARB. After the presentation there will be a Q-and-A session.
